Info Box
Once again the EADS family day at Manching attracted a huge number of visitors which was reported to be beyond 100.000. This is easy to imagine after being stuck in a big traffic jam around Manching for quite a while.

The airshow presented a great overview of aviation, which started with historic aircraft like the Messerschmitt Me-108, the Me-109 G10 and of course the new star in the collection of the Messerschmitt Foundation the Me-262 B-1A. This show was followed by a flying display of the Sikorsky CH-53G, the NH-90 and Tiger, which came over from the nearby Eurocopter facility in Donauwörth and the BO-105. The C-160 Transall once again showed that it's flying capabilities are still very impressive and due to the high humidity you can see those interesting corkscrew condensation trails on the propellers.

The most impressive and definately the loudest displays came at the end of the show, which was opened by the F-4 Phantom that made a magnificent display. The Tornado impressed with some spectacular high speed fly-bys before the double-seater version of the Eurofighter made it's fantastic show. All of those who left the flight line after the display of the Eurofighter definately missed another highlight when the single-seater and the double-seater Eurofighter came back for two final fly-bys in formation to close the show.
